 2008 Soccer Skills Training
Camp
Thanks to all the campers for their outstanding efforts and
for making 2008 another great program! Once again FASA
donated a significant portion of the camp proceeds to Chancellor
and Courtland Girls Soccer
Programs for their help as "Assistant Trainers".
The Advanced Skills Camp is unique as we have the local High
School Players work with the Licensed FASA
coaches to provide extensive individual instruction so that all
campers are given maximum attention.

Program
Details....
The FASA Hotspur Soccer Club is once again offering Skill Develop
Sessions for boys & girls ages 8 - 12. Our program combines specific
skill training followed by small-sided games. This combination will
maximize touches on the ball. The ASDP Spring 2008 program will consist of
five sessions. Each training session and individual group of players will
be directed/run by United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Licensed coaches
and assisted by local High School and/or College players (Including ODP
& Super Y Coaches) . The cost of the
program is $75 and that includes all five sessions and a T-shirt.
Basic Program Details
Ages: 8 – 12 (broken down by age group based on
registration). There are limited slots so register EARLY!

Training Session Format: Each session will focus on specific skills for
filed players such as dribbling, passing, receiving, etc. After skills are
introduced and practiced - the last half of the session will be small-sided
soccer (i.e. 4v4, 5v5, etc.). The focus will b on
proper techniques in a fun / positive learning environment.
Cost: $75 per player (includes ALL 5 SESSIONS and a T-shirt)
Coaches / Trainers: USSF Licensed Trainers supplemented with High
School players

Additional Notes / Highlights:
Players need to bring
the following: Ball (inflated), Shin guards, Water,
Appropriate Clothing (based on weather) - and be on the field
and ready to go at the starting time listed.
What to Expect:
As previously noted - our sessions will be focused on
technical skill development. Each session will have a
central "theme" (specific skill we will focus on -
i.e. dribbling to beat an opponent, short passing, receiving
first touch/last touch, etc.). The activities will focus
on our "theme of the day" - as will most of our
coaching points. The reason behind this training technique
is to reinforce learning and maximize what each player is able
to take away from each session. We want them to retain as
much as possible. One key point..... soccer is a GAME
- and we will be sure to bring FUN and ENTHUSIASM to the field
at every session. Clearly we want the players to learn -
but will stay focused on making sure it is a positive
experience and they have a good time!
